As we come to the close of another incredible year, we reflect on the growth, dedication, and resilience we’ve witnessed from each rider. Tonight’s banquet was a celebration not just of victories, but of the heart, passion, and hard work each rider has poured into this journey. The awards given here tonight were voted on by your teammates—proof that your commitment, sportsmanship, and teamwork are truly making an impact. This is the finale goodbye to our seniors.

There were also awards earned through your race scores, a testament to your determination and skill. But beyond the numbers, what stands out most is the spirit you’ve brought to this team. Coaches, teammates, and friends alike have seen you rise above challenges, push through tough moments, and support one another with kindness and dedication.

We coaches want to take a moment to say how incredibly proud we are of each and every one of you. What you’ve accomplished is remarkable, not just in terms of race results, but in how you’ve shown up for each other and grown together as a team. Your hard work, your heart, and your hustle have inspired us all, and we are so grateful to be part of your journey. Keep believing in yourselves, keep pushing, and know that this is just the beginning of all the amazing things you’re destined to achieve. Thank you for everything you’ve given to this team, and for the incredible memories we’ve made together. We couldn’t be more thankful to be your coaches!

Alexandria Mountain Biking Team Shines at Season Opener

Alexandria, MN– The Alexandria Mountain Biking Team kicked off their season with a strong showing at the first MCA race of the year held at Brophy Park on August 24-25. With a robust community effort and dedicated volunteer hours, the event was a success.

Head Coach’s Ryan Larson and Terri Goeke praised the team's collective effort, emphasizing the remarkable 170 hours of support provided by volunteers. Preparations began on Friday afternoon, with numerous volunteers working to set up the course. Their dedication allowed riders to familiarize themselves with the track before the race. Notably, Cycling Without Age made a significant impact on the biking community, and the Big Ole Bike Club was a huge help in coordinating the event, from mapping out the routes to repairing the trails.

This year's event saw 26 teams compete across two sections, D1 and D2, categorized by the number of racers in each. The Alexandria team, which had its previous Brophy Park race during the COVID-19 pandemic, was well-prepared for the competition.

The high school team secured an impressive 8th place overall. The standout racers for the high school team included Lacy Siira, Ben Scholten, Addison Suchy, Levi Preston, Maxwell Chinn, Will Nichols, Gunner Rach, and Sullivan Rooney.

The middle school team delivered an exceptional performance, finishing in 2nd place. Individual highlights for the middle school team came from Emelia Preston, Isaiah Rye, Alyse Suchy, and Korbin Kriel.

Looking ahead, the Alexandria Mountain Biking Team will continue their season with races scheduled in St. Cloud, MN; Minneapolis, MN; River Falls, WI; and Chisholm, MN.

With strong early performances and a committed team, Alexandria’s mountain bikers are ready for a successful season.
